New Build Brickwork in Coventry & Warwickshire
A new-build brickwork package brings the plans into shape, from footings and damp-proof courses through to the finished shell.
What's included
Setting out from the drawings
Accurate setting out establishes wall positions, dimensions and levels before the main walls rise. Door and window openings, changes in height and the relationship between inner and outer leaves need to be coordinated. Brick dimensions and joint sizes affect the layout, so checking the design against the selected materials can help avoid awkward cuts. The brickwork package should be clearly defined rather than assumed to include every trade needed for a completed home.
Moisture control and structural details
A damp-proof course helps interrupt moisture rising through the wall. Cavity trays and weep openings help direct water out at particular junctions, while wall ties connect the leaves of a cavity wall. These details must be installed in the appropriate positions and kept clear of mortar debris. Foundations, lintels, insulation and structural connections follow the design and relevant building requirements; there is no single detail suitable for every new home.
Consistent appearance and coordination
Agreeing the brick, mortar and joint finish early gives a clear reference for the finished appearance. Bricks from different packs are often blended to reduce noticeable colour bands. Plumb corners, consistent coursing and careful treatment of openings are important throughout the build. Access, material storage and the sequence of other trades also matter. Share your drawings, specifications and any inspection arrangements at the free site visit so the proposed work can be discussed in context.
Our process
Every project begins with a conversation about what you want to achieve and what is already there. A site visit lets the proposed work be considered alongside access, existing materials and any drawings. Use that visit to raise questions about preparation, finishes and the boundaries of the brickwork package. Agreeing these points early helps everyone understand the work and the sequence before it starts.

New Builds: common questions
What does your new-build package cover?
The homepage lists brickwork from footings and DPC through to the finished shell. The precise package and interfaces with other trades depend on the drawings; we’ll confirm at the free site visit.
Can you work from architectural drawings?
Drawings and specifications provide the basis for discussing wall layouts, openings and materials. Bring the current versions and any structural details; we’ll confirm at the free site visit.
What is a DPC?
A damp-proof course is a barrier intended to limit moisture rising through a wall. Its position and connections must suit the building design and external ground levels.
Who arranges building control inspections?
Inspection arrangements should be agreed with the client and wider project team before work begins. The responsible person and required stages depend on the project; we’ll confirm at the free site visit.
