Brick Extensions in Coventry & Warwickshire
From single-storey additions to double-storey extensions, well-planned brickwork helps new space sit comfortably alongside the existing house.
What's included
Matching the existing house
Brick matching involves more than finding a similar colour. Size, texture, weathering, mortar colour and the pattern of the bond all affect how an extension looks. Coursing means lining up the horizontal rows of brickwork. Existing openings, corners and roof lines give useful reference points. A close match may be possible, but exact matching cannot be guaranteed where original bricks are no longer available.
Building the shell correctly
An extension needs suitable foundations and a carefully detailed connection to the existing building. Damp-proof courses, cavity trays and wall ties each have a different purpose: managing moisture and helping the wall work as designed. Insulation, lintels and openings should follow the drawings and relevant building requirements. Bricklaying is one part of the wider build, so responsibilities for roofing, glazing and other trades should be clear before work starts.
Planning the work around your home
Think about access for materials, nearby drains, the position of doors and how the new room will meet the garden. These details can affect sequencing and finished levels. Planning permission and building regulations are separate matters; some extensions may be permitted development, but that does not remove the need to check building requirements. Bring any drawings and approval information to the free site visit so the proposed brickwork can be discussed against the actual property.
Our process
Every project begins with a conversation about what you want to achieve and what is already there. A site visit lets the proposed work be considered alongside access, existing materials and any drawings. Use that visit to raise questions about preparation, finishes and the boundaries of the brickwork package. Agreeing these points early helps everyone understand the work and the sequence before it starts.

Why choose F & E Brickwork
F & E Brickwork brings together two experienced teams, with Morgan and Niall on site. The same approach runs through the existing services: fixed pricing, clear communication and a 10-year workmanship guarantee. A written quote helps you understand the agreed scope rather than compare figures for different jobs. Discuss assumptions and any work by other trades before accepting it. Ask about the guarantee and how it applies to your proposed work at the free site visit.
Areas we cover
We cover Coventry and Warwickshire, including Leamington Spa, Rugby, Nuneaton and Kenilworth. Whether you have drawings ready or are still considering the options, contact Morgan or Niall with your location and a brief outline of the job. Mention access restrictions and any existing damage so the first conversation is useful. We’ll confirm at the free site visit which details affect the proposed work, rather than make assumptions from a photograph alone.
All areas we cover"I had Morgan and Niall complete an extension on my house. They were both very clear in their communication with me about the work being carried out. They also got the work done within good time and kept a quality and professional standard."
Extensions: common questions
Can you match my existing bricks?
We can discuss colour, size, texture, mortar and coursing. Availability and the condition of your original bricks affect the options; we’ll confirm at the free site visit.
Do I need planning permission for an extension?
Some extensions fall within permitted development, while others need permission. Check with your local planning authority; building regulations may still apply even without planning permission.
Can you build single and double-storey extensions?
Both are listed among our extension services. Foundations, structural details and the agreed scope depend on the plans and property; we’ll confirm at the free site visit.
How long will the brickwork take?
Size, access, weather and coordination with other trades affect the programme. We’ll confirm at the free site visit rather than promise a timescale before seeing the job.
